Sisii Dreams...

As much as I love fashion I don't spend a lot of time obsessing over things beyond my economic reach...in fact, I would say most of my favorite designers fall in that category between I feel guilty buying this, sweatshop labor cheap and oh my gawd I can't believe I spent that much on that___...and even if I were to say, win the lottery I'm not so sure I would immediately dive into a designer wardrobe of high heeled Louboutins & silk Chloe dresses...I'm more into lusting over comfy, everyday luxuries that I want to wear to pieces...which brings me to this jacket by Sisii at Totokaelo...that at $1765 is definitely not happening for me...but oh, how I would wear it until it wore out - because as you know, I live in the land of the windchill factor (hey husband - note subtle John Prine reference) and spend at least 4 if not 5 months in an unflattering black puffy parka...(as much as I'd like to, you just can't do knee high snow drifts & negative temps in a ladylike wool coat)...so the idea of a WASHABLE, flannel lined, soft leather number has my name written all over it...le sigh...
Anything you are dreaming of this fall? Let's commiserate!
xoxo, M

  1. ooo this would work for me too. i live in PA and our winters are long, slushy, and cold. it's so darn hard to be stylish AND warm.

  2. a trench coat.

Our weather just doesn't justify spending a TON, but it's an item that I'd really like to splurge on (for a really nice one).

    Someday :).

  3. I am right there with you on purchases for myself. Yet, these coats are so beautiful and I could see one in my closet- they are hip and classic all at the same time. (Already trying to convince myself of a potential purchase.) Thanks for the eye candy.

  4. I actually own this coat, in tobacco, and I've had it for the past three years. You will NEVER wear it out, and it looks better as it ages. The way I figure it, the coat may cost a bunch, but it's the last casual/every day coat you'll buy for the next 20 years. You can even throw it in the washer (without the fur, that is!).

  5. i have been going back and forth on the sisii parka. the former vegetarian in me feels a bit weird about wearing that much leather. but i have learned after 8 years in new england that wind chill should not be taken lightly.

i would love to see how this looks on a shorter, say 5'4" person. it's a beautiful coat, and if i could justify the expense, i would. sigh indeed.

  6. Haha, love the John Prine reference. I learned about him when I lived in Maine, where is oh-so-cold!!!

  7. Have you looked at Soia & Kyo? They make really beautiful, stylish parkas that are way more in the budget (www.soiakyo.com). I especially like the Ciara & Noreen parkas, and the Vivi coat though it's wool.... This fall I am dreaming of actual fall weather. It's going to get over 100 again next week, this Texas heat is killing me!

  8. I couldn't make it to Totokaelo today (ran out of time...boo!) so I have no report, unfortunately. Maybe it's for the best? ;)

  9. Oh my god! WASHABLE flannel-lined leather?! You are killing me! This parka is amazing, especially in that light brown color. Damn, now I think I might be obsessed, even though, like you say, it is totally out of the realm of reality.

  10. I finally caved and ordered the sisii parka in tobacco. It's unbelievable, even more beautiful in person. FYI for those concerned, I am 5'2 and worried that it would overwhelm my frame (and bank acct!), but it is just so extremely gorgeous and comfy, no regrets here. Definitely the most beautiful item of clothing I've ever bought, and I think I'll finally get rid of my ratty north face parka now. - Sofie
