ps - last night's Pheonix show was fantastic...and I sat thhhiiisss close to Josh Hartnett (looking super cute in plaid buttondown and studious black frames with a bit of scruff)...he grinned from ear to ear when Thomas Mars sang Playground Love from the Virgin Suicides Soundtrack - talk about 3 degrees of Sofia Coppola!

Gretchen Jones is making me super excited about Project Runway again...finally a girl on PR who is a talented designer and has amazing personal style! Loving her line mothlove found through the super cool Alison - writer for the Seattle Times - thanks Ali! Set your tivos!!

If I'm not doing the over the knee Frye I might finally splurge on these n.d.c boots I've had my eye on for a while - especially after they were heartily endorsed by my fellow Leo Kate!

Finally, I spent yesterday morning with Flora & Nadia of Revelry discussing a much needed house makeover...I knew I was in good hands when they pulled these images for me...now I'm excited to sit back and let them work their magic! 

Gotta Run - Busy day and Phoenix tonight - although apparently the Rufus show last night was AMAZING...now I'm kicking myself for not getting a babysitter 2 nights in a row...do yourself a favor and go see him when he hits your town...

Pennies on the Dollar

Okay - don't laugh, but Saturday I spent a whopping 5 hours at the Mall of America with my mom - yep, that's right...the biggest mall in the US complete with roller coasters, wedding chapel, and stores like Minnesota-ah!...we needed to do some power shopping for my cousin's back to school wardrobe and of course I couldn't resist picking up a few goodies for myself - like this lace top from American Apparel (I've been on the lookout since spotting Miss Lucy's above)...

  I'd forgotten how fun finding bargains can be...I've been lusting over this seersucker skirt for $178 at Steven Alan but picked up a similar one at Urban Outfitters for only $20!

and remember those $500 Lanvin flats I was swooning about - well the Gap has some mighty comfy ones for under $40...and I traded out my $250 J Crew two tone brogues for UO's $48 version

Of course, the quality isn't the same but for a little wardrobe supplementing I'd say it was a day & dollar well spent...

plus I saved so much that I might have to splurge on these Frye boots everyone's going gaga for (spotted at Greedy Girl)

over the knee boots...yes? no? I think these are the ones to do...I'd feel a bit like Henry VIII on the Tudors (do you watch? I completely broke down when Anne B got chopped) xoxo...

Stuff...

I'm all tapped out ladies...so here's a collection of images that are making me happy this week...I'm a type L (for lazy) trying to keep up a Type A schedule and failing miserably...seriously, in the weeds - again! But you know what? It's Friday & my mom's coming for a visit, I have my lovely niece's birthday party, then next week MY birthday - yeah!!, a choice between seeing Rufus Wainwright or Phoenix and as always lovely L & slightly grumpy husband to cuddle with...How's your weekend shaping up?
ps - Is it terrible that my hubs is taking my birthday off and I want to ditch him for half the day to pack in the rest of my makeover list?
pps - any other slacker mom's out there?  or am I the only one who shows up at the pool with a measly fruit strip in the bottom of her bag while the other lovely mom (always) has a gorgeous smörgåsbord of treats?? Oh Ann, I will do better next time!

Rock Stars Heart John Robshaw!

I can't say who, because I'm discreet like that, but I've shipped quite a few boxes of John Robshaw to some of my favorite rock stars...one indie sweetheart loves mixing up cinde lavander with jala khaki...while another pair of married crooners dig diggi coral & blue trellis...considering the wanderlust prints and Beatles in India vibe it's no wonder JR is a hit with the tourbus set...which rock'n'roller's bedroom would you like a peek into?
