All in the Details

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday - even though we still have snow patches everywhere it's warm enough to open the windows and let in some fresh air - ahhhhhh!  Speaking of fresh air I'm mad for this tangle of intriguing details...the crisp blue monogram shirt, the pile of bracelets - none too precious, and that amazing fuschia suit with the gold buttons...it immediately brought to mind the lamp I've been obsessing over, in the room everyone's been falling for...

I know it's been blogged to death by now but is there really a better "undecorated" room than Roman Alonso's of Commune fame?   I'm on the lookout for that crazy gold lamp with the hot pink shade...if you spot one send it my way, pretty please??

On a side note - if you haven't noticed, things are running awfully slow here at Casa Michelle...only 10 days til my due date and honestly, if I could sleep for the next two weeks I'd be perfectly content...so my lovely assistant will be keeping the shop running smoothly (new stuff online by tomorrow - yeahh!!) and top of my to do list is lining up some fantastic guest bloggers to keep this space entertaining...okay, YAWN...gonna catch some zzzz's...my couch has the perfect napping in the sun spot...
xoxo, M

ps - any tech junkies out there? My desktop keeps giving me the blue screen of death so looks like it's time for an upgrade - I'm so smitten with my iphone that I'm leaning towards a mac? do I go all-in-one or just ditch a big computer and stick with a laptop??

  5. Laptops are best, I have a macbook pro as well. If you don't need to run large programs, a mac book would do great and be less expensive, then you could blog in that sun spot on your couch

  6. Definitely ditch the desktop! Macs are great if you can spring for one, but there are a lot of great netbooks on the market that are really cheap. Better yet, try a hackintosh - running a Mac OS on a netbook for the best of both worlds. Cheap and chic! http://gizmodo.com/#!5325775/the-state-of-hackintosh-which-netbooks-to-hack

  9. 10 days already? Exciting! And definitely go with the Mac; we are a Mac family and love all the easy interfacing (um, I am definitely no tech junkie, so I hope I used the term correctly...). Will be sending easy labor vibes! xo

10 days.... phew. that is like a blink away. I hope you get all of the sleep and naps that you possibly can - you deserve them. I need to take a few naps myself!

  11. love my laptop, but sometimes long for the days of a desktop and apple makes great ones (of both, really). Get some rest and hope to hear good baby news from you soon!! p.s. just had Kev's parents down from Minneapolis this past week, they were hoping the snow would be melting awfully soon!

  12. Wow, you should definately rest mama! And the lamp (I suppose I am behind as well) is drool-worthy. I am a big gold girl and will be on the lookout for one!

  13. Nap away little lady, nap away. You deserve the rest. Hand everything over to your assistant that you possibly can. You need to rest up for labor. We'll all be here when you get back to blogging.

  15. Yes I love that Tommy Ton photo. But more importantly, get a mac! I swear, you will loveit and in a few weeks you will think, how did I ever live without it. I've got a macbook pro that I use for literally everything, and while sometimes I feel a little envy for my husbands desktop, I'm really glad I went with the laptop. Do it!

  16. So very close Michelle!!

I totally agree with Estelle's comment (as usual :)... Rest away, and we'll be hear when you return!

As for the computer question, we got rid of the desktop (after getting a laptop) and use a docking station in our office, so if the kids need to use it, or if I can get OFF of the couch and actually sit at a desk, I have the option of shutting it, docking it, and using it as a desktop... best of both worlds.

  17. Definitely switch to a Mac. The interface is great and while I can't give you all the technical reasons why, my husband (a former diehard PCer) can.

If you need any foodie guest posters, I'll be happy to help!

Hang in there...it's the final stretch. Woo-hoo!

  18. New reader here, but just wanted to say I work strictly off a Mac laptop and have for about 5 years. The only thing I miss is a big monitor (I have just the MacBook, not the Pro). My hubbie has a huge monitor, and I'm envious. That said, back up often as I was devastated when I lost my hard drive. I've had Macs forever (20 years?), and it's only happened once but it was HORRIBLE!
