A little of our lately...

Hello friends! How is your early summer shaping up?  I'm ready to hit some strawberry fields, wander the farmer's markets, break out this Paletas book, and indulge in some trashy beach reads...but first we need to discuss this Sangria that I made on Monday...white wine, St Germain, and fresh fruit...done & done...this summer's cocktail all sussed out...

random goodness...this season's saltwaters, the sweetest bear ever by the amazing Jennifer Murphy (also 1/2 of Dull Diamond), and my new Clare Vivier go to in a ridiculously yum melon...

and the best rainy day baking project - this granola...seriously THE BEST...I subbed in pine nuts for pecans and added chocolate...amazing...

Okay...I'm off...hoping to finally tackle my mess of a garden or I may just pour a glass of aforementioned beverage and take it easy...yay for summer!

Back IN Stock and Sale on Sale!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend...I've been crazy organizing & purging but found some time to head to my favorite farmer's market on opening day for some of Anne's delicious nutella filled brioche donuts...it seems summer is upon us and it definitely feels like we are coming out of that first year baby fog...all good things friends...

speaking of good things...Laura Lombardi is making my absolute favorite brass stud earrings again so I snapped some up for the shop along with other staples like the brass bar & square earrings...

we also have more Odette arrow cuffs & rings again - yippee! These go super fast so head on over...and make sure to check out the new collection as well...have you seen the lookbook? out of control amazing...I love how the wide arrow cuff looks against the delicate version...

and back in brights...Baggu medium & small pouches...citron, grapefruit and mint, oh my...

I love how Joslyn accessorized hers with a red tassel but I'm pretty gaga for anything that lady does ;)

Girl Crush...

Okay, I realize that having a girl crush on stylist Kate Young isn't exactly earth shattering...I've been a fan since the Selby featured her family and cool but absolute real NY apartment...most of the fashion world can feel so phony and it was super refreshing to see a girl at the top of the game without uber styled "perfect" digs...I fell a little harder after this interview on Into The Gloss where she divulged her beauty secrets and goofed on the fact that she loves organic products yet bleaches her hair ;) and swooned over her and her sweet sons on The Glow this spring...then this morning I happened to catch her on the Today show (randomly since I never have the TV on during the day but Lou keeps wanting to indulge in these epic morning nursing sessions and the only thing in my tivo queue was Girls which seems wildly inappropriate for baby even if she isn't watching) and was struck by how absolutely sweet & genuine she seems...oh Kate! you're tops cause in my book nice girls always finish first!

PPS - Speaking of Girls, do you like it? I was pretty skeeved out/repulsed/annoyed by the first episode but the critics seem to love it...maybe I'll give it another shot?

Let the Sun Shine In...

I have this great little eyebrow window in our bedroom and last week got this amazing David Scheid stained glass piece that fits perfectly...so now every morning I wake up to a little rainbow of light pouring through...it's pretty magical...

David happens to be the other half of the lovely & talented Kathryn Bentley...and you can find more of his pieces at Vivier & Bentley

my other happy maker this week - finally cleaning up my room and using the clothing rack Nadia of Revelry made for me...it's so nice to see everything out and about - I've worn so many things that have languished in hiding...

Let them eat cake!

Right smack dab in he middle of April my precious Miss Lou turned one...seriously this is one sweet, ridiculously delicious girl...I mean really, those cheeks & curls are enough to make your heart pitter patter, no?  

I'm not gonna lie though...this birthday hit me hard...with Lila I felt such a sense of accomplishment and with Louisa I just felt an overwhelming sense of how fast time is speeding by and that this is the last babe I will be cuddling, nursing, & snuggling with...I was a bit of a mess, girls...

So I made an executive decision to keep the party manageable with a simple, small brunch...but to keep it special I decided the time had come to tackle the craziness known as the Momofuku birthday cake...

 it was an all day (and overnight) affair...crumbs, frosting, cake layers, milk soak, freezing...

 we raided the party box for streamers & garlands...(oh *^&!, I should have edited out that tacky plastic silverware - oh well, design bloggers look away..)

and tada! The cake turned out beautifully....but...oh, it was SO sweet...oh well! it looked pretty cool right?

okay, off to hang with these girlies...
